Windshields are made from two thin layers of glass, with a sheet of plastic polyvinylbutyral ( PVB ) in the center. The function of the plastic interlayer is to bond two pieces of glass together and prevent large pieces of glass from being dislodged when broken. When the outer layer is broken, the types of breaks encountered can vary ( bullseye, spidering cracks & etc.). Air can get trapped inside and must be removed before the damaged area can be repaired. When the air is removed, resin can fill the area and repair the damage correctly and completely. Once cured the resin bonds the glass back together, repairing the break permanently.

The Pitstop Windshield Repair Kit allows you to quickly and easily repair chipped or cracked windshields without the costly expense of replacing it. This unique do-it-yourself kit makes 2 or 3 repairs per kit and gives the user a chance to repair the chips or cracks as they happen. This incredible formula leaves a NON-yellowing, NON-blurring repair that is 5 times stronger than the windshield itself. Pitstop repairs ALL types of breaks and chips on the windshield. The resin that is used is the same resin used by professional windshield repair companies who can charge as much as a few hundred dollars to repair a chipped or cracked windshield. The Pitstop process allows the resin too easily and completely fill the chip or crack and has the same contraction and expansion rate of glass. A wicking action pushes the air up and out while repairing the chip or crack. Exposing it to Ultra-violet rays from the sun, which are even present on cloudy days, bonds the resin. After a few minutes of curing, your done and you've avoided the costly expense of replacing the windshield. Once the repair is completed and cured, the area is PERMANENTLY REPAIRED and will NOT chip or break again.
